What we haul in Swansea
Homes and waterfront cottages
We clear out garages, basements, attics, and sheds, and we do full estate cleanouts, where we work on your family’s schedule and set aside anything that looks personal. That includes seasonal cottages and waterfront homes around Ocean Grove and Touisset.
Single items
We pick up furniture, appliances including refrigerators, mattresses and box springs, and bigger things like hot tubs, pianos, and sheds. We also empty offices and storage units.
Construction and renovation debris
We haul drywall, lumber, flooring, old cabinets, and other leftovers from remodels and cleanups.
We cover all of Swansea, including Swansea Village, North Swansea, South Swansea, Hortonville, Barneyville, Ocean Grove, and Touisset. We also work in Somerset, and across the state line in Warren and Barrington. We’re family-owned and fully insured, and we’ve been in business since 2018.
How it works
- Call or send the form with a quick list of what’s going.
- Ryan, the owner, comes by to see it and gives you a free estimate. Pricing is based on how much room it all takes up in the truck, and it covers the labor and the disposal fees.
- When you’re ready, we load everything up and take it away. We accept credit cards, PayPal, Zelle, checks, and cash.
Swansea’s bulky item rules
Swansea doesn’t have a transfer station, so there’s no town dump to bring things to. If you’re in the town trash program, you can put out one bulky item a week with a paid tag, and TVs, electronics, large appliances, and scrap metal need a tag and an appointment with the town’s hauler.
Mattresses and box springs can’t go to the curb at all. Since 2022, residents have had to bring them to the Highway Department on Gardner Neck Road on a Wednesday and pay a fee there. Construction debris isn’t part of the town’s program at all. The town’s solid waste page has current fees and phone numbers.
One tagged item a week is fine for an old chair. It’s slow going for a garage, a cottage, or a whole house, and it doesn’t help with a mattress or a remodel. We take it all, not one item a week, and carry it out from wherever it is.
What customers say
“Absolutely the best to deal with! An hour after my inquiry Ryan showed up to pick up a mattress set I had on my porch since late summer. I would highly recommend and I will be using his services again in the near future.”
Tammy M., Google review
“The work was done efficiently, quickly and professionally. We will definitely recommend them to our friends and neighbors. The men worked carefully and had excellent manners. We really appreciated the quick turnaround and excellent service. A reasonable price too!”
Paula P., Google review
“Would highly recommend Ryan’s Junk Truck to anyone. I originally called and got scheduled for a removal, but unfortunately had to cancel the day of. They were nothing but understanding and immediately rescheduled my pick up…”

Common questions
I have a summer place in Swansea but live out of town. Can you still clear it?
Yes. For anything inside, someone needs to be there to let us in, like a neighbor, a relative, or a property manager. If everything is already outside, we can take it without anyone there.
Can you take a mattress so I don’t have to bring it to the Highway Department?
Yes. We carry mattresses and box springs out from any room, and they’re disposed of the way Massachusetts law requires. Wet mattresses cost extra.
What can’t you take?
Hazardous materials such as paint, fuel, and chemicals. For those, Swansea holds a household hazardous waste collection day for residents, usually in April.
